The working group has worked closely with Councillor Adam Vaughan, Parks, Forestry and Recreation, and the Annex Resident’s Association to gather information and begin laying out alternatives. We have also had input from hundreds of residents at community meetings, through informal conversation and email, and through two online surveys. The purpose of this research is to initiate a park design process, leading to the completion of a revitalization plan and construction. The research will assist the design team better understand community aspirations for the park as they negotiate the design process.

June 18, 2008 - Public Meeting - Conceptual Design
The City of Toronto’s Parks, Forestry & Recreation Division, Sibelius Square Working Group and Councillor Vaughan invite you to attend a public meeting to introduce alternative design concepts prepared by the project’s design team, PMA Landscape Architects. This design research will lead to a new design for Jean Sibelius Square. We want to hear your ideas and perspectives as the design work for this park develops.
The community meeting will be held at Walmer Road Baptist Church from 7-9pm. The meeting space is in the Lower Hall, 188 Lowther Road.

We were happy to see 35 designers, representing various design teams, gather in the square on Tuesday for a mandatory site meeting. The meeting was coordinated by Parks, Forestry and Recreation. The RFP proposal deadline is at the end of the month. A design consultant should be selected in the following two weeks.
